FAQ: FAQ

THE SPACE

The villa is on a unique property, at the southest point of Paliki peninsula, with a far view of Zante island in its front. It is bathed in brilliant sunshine from dawn to sunset and offers the most quiet yet luxurious vacation. The villa’s architecture is traditional Kefalonian, with arched terraces, pink (terracotta) color on the walls, traditional wooden windows and doors, stone walls and a barbeque under a bamboo pergola next to the outdoor pool. The open plan at the interior enhances the fluidity of the space and covered terraces, with built-in sitting nooks and tables, can be found in different locations, so that one can enjoy their breakfast, lunch, dinner and drink on a different terrace and view according to the sunlight.

GUEST ACCESS

The guests can access the whole property, outdoor and indoor, except  the garage that is accessible only by the personnel responsible for the garden and swimming pool maintenance. There is also a mechanical room in the basement and one next to the pool that are locked for security reasons.

GUEST INTERACTION

We give our guests space and independence, but we are available when needed. We are only a phone call/sms/email away, promptly responsive, and can send help if needed. Guests can also find a note at the property with all emergency numbers (police, fire department, doctors, etc), and a map of Lixouri next to the entrance for their reference. WiFi instructions will be also provided on site.  Furthermore, a list with recommended restaurants and visiting sites (museums, monasteries, beaches, caves) will be provided.

NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW

The villa is located in an extremely quiet neighborhood called “Moving Rock” (Kounopetra), and people visit it for tranquil sunset walks by the sea. The peninsula has a very particular nature, with incredible rock formations made of clay, exceptional kids-friendly beach 10 minutes walk with red clay sand (nature’s exfoliator), and a picturesque little fishing harbor. The area is famous for a huge rock by the sea that started moving after an earthquake. The rock, following another earthquake doesn’t move anymore but the name stuck with the remote peninsula! You can visit the moving rock, which is located 5 minutes walk from the villa and offers one of the best sunsets in the island.

GETTING AROUND

The villa is accessible by private car and offers free parking space up to 3 cars on the property. There is a beach with red clay sand, clay rocks and a tavern only 10 minutes walk away from the property, and small gulfs one can enter the sea for snorkeling less than five minutes walk. More restaurants and organized beaches can be found around the peninsula. The closest village is 10 minutes away by car where one can find a small store, and Lixouri, the second largest town in the island  has all kinds of supermarkets, bars, ice cream shops, pharmacies, hospital and various restaurants, and is only 15 minutes away by car (a quiet provincial road). Lixouri is connected to Argostoli, the capital, by a 30 minutes ride ferry boat, or 45 minutes drive.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

The villa has everything you may need, so you can easily remain in during your entire stay, and enjoy all features, like the pool and the barbeque. In case you want to explore, there are plenty of options for swimming, like three famous beaches in close proximity (Xi, Lagadakia, Petanoi), and many more further away, lots of restaurants to enjoy traditional kefalonian food like meatpie and skordalia (potato garlic spread often served with cod), and many more things that I can help you discover! The picturesque village of Asos is next to world famous Myrtos beach less than an hour drive from the property, and another half an hour away is the beautiful village of Fiscardo, that has kept the traditional kefalonian architecture and is a pole for tourists from around the globe.
